Both is possible, infinitive construction ond subordinate phrase
In some cases both is possible infinitive construction ond subordinate phrase. Verbs of saying, meaning, hope and believe can form a subordinate clause starting with que, even if both actions have the same subject.
Examples
Il dit qu' il ne sait pas écrire. construction with infinitive possible:Il dit ne pas savoir écrire.
He says that he does not know how to write.
He says not to know how to write.
Il affirme qu' il ne la connaît pas. construction with infinitive possible: Il affirme ne pas la connaître.
He claims that he does not know her.
He claims not to know her.
Je crois que j' ai assez d' argent. construction with infinitive possible:Je crois avoir assez d' argent.
I believe that I have enough money.
I believe to have enough money.
