What for did we go through all this? Well, because we are going to need the personal pronouns in the different object forms in many, many cases.
Example
The group gives Peter the book. => no personal pronoun and therefore not critical in English or French, BUT
We give it to him. => both objects are substituted by personal pronouns and now we need them already
In English the personal pronouns in their form, but in their position and in case of doubt the preposition
to
is used for indirect objects.
