5.4 Possessive pronouns

The possessive pronouns indicate whose an object is.

English possessive pronouns
This is my car.
These are your problems.
You have changed our house.

In English the possessive pronoun is independent of the gender and the number of possessed object. This is different in French. The gender and number of the possessed object determines the possessive pronoun, however, it is unchanged by the type of object (indirect - dative; direct - accusative):
